Hosts sought for regional Podium 2012 Games events Posted 19 January 2010 Podium is seeking 10 universities and colleges that are prepared to host regional events taking place during March and April.The events will be designed to inform FECs and HEIs of Games related opportunities including the Inspire programme, Get Set and volunteering. Podium will provide £1,500 (£3,000 in London) to host each event.

Brief

Throughout March and April 2010 Podium (The Further and Higher Education Unit for the 2012
Games) will hold a series of regional events targeted at the Higher and Further Education sectors.

The events have two principal aims;
(a) To provide information on regional and national opportunities around the Games.
(b) To act as a forum for networking and the sharing of best practice in Games related activity.

Requirements
Podium is seeking 10 separate venues (One in every English Governmental Region and Wales) to
host these events and provide AV and catering requirements as described in the points below.
1. Venues must be registered Further Education Colleges or Higher Education Institutions.
2. Lecture theatre/auditorium with a capacity of at least 100 (150 in London).
3. AV Equipment in lecture theatre/auditorium to include DVD, web connection and Powerpoint facilities.
4. Cater a buffet lunch for all delegates.
5. Host a networking drinks reception for all delegates, in a separate space.
6. All spaces used must be fully accessible.

Dates and Times
All institutions applying must provide Podium with three provisional dates between March 1st 2010
and April 30th 2010 (excluding April 1-6) on which they would be willing to host the event.
All three provisional dates supplied must be Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays.
All events will run from 1pm – 5pm. Lunch and Registration 1pm -2pm and Reception 4-5pm.

Budget
Podium is willing to provide funding for each event , up to a maximum of £1500 (£3000 in London)
to cover the costs of providing for all the activities and facilities detailed above.

To apply to host a regional event please email Kate Filochowski info@podium.ac.uk by 5pm on
Monday 25th January. In your email please provide;
1. Your name and contact details.
2. The region/nation for which you wish to apply.
3. The exact address of the venue at which you would seek to hold the event (including
postcode ).
4. The maximum delegate capacity of the facilities you could provide.
